Securus Insurance Ltd is a wholesale broker and underwriting agency. Our mission is to provide quality insurance solutions to our brokers at a competitive price and with market leading standards of cover, excellence and customer service.

We distribute a suite of niche insurance products to our panel of over 200 authorised insurance brokers located throughout the Republic of Ireland.

At Securus, we have embraced technology and firmly believe that we can deliver superior niche insurance products efficiently and cost effectively to our broker network. We pride ourselves on our reputation for professional service, superior technology and experience. Purpose for processing your data

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from you in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, subscribe to the newsletter, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers’ utilised and other similar information.

Securus Insurance may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

We may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.

Why does Securus Insurance need to collect and store personal data?

In order for us to provide you with an insurance quote we need to collect personal data to allow us and our Insurance partners to underwrite your and clients insurance risk. In any event, we are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.

How will Securus Insurance use the personal data it collects about me?

Securus Insurance will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.

Securus Insurance is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for income tax and audit purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices. Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.

Under what circumstances will Securus Insurance contact me?

Our aim is not to be intrusive, and we undertake not to ask irrelevant or unnecessary questions. Moreover, the information you provide will be subject to rigorous measures and procedures to minimise the risk of unauthorised access or disclosure.

Why we are processing your data? Our legal basis

Our reason and purpose for processing your personal data is:

Who are we sharing your data with?

We may pass your personal data on to third-party service providers contracted to Securus Insurance in the course of dealing with you. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfill the service they provide on your behalf. When they no longer need your data to fulfil this service, they will dispose of the details in line with our procedures. If we wish to pass your sensitive personal data onto a third party we will only do so once we have obtained your consent from your broker, unless we are legally required to do otherwise.

If we transfer personal data to a third party or outside the EU we will ensure the recipient has provided the appropriate safeguards and on condition that enforceable data subject rights and effective legal remedies for you the data subject are available.

Data Subjects Rights:

Securus Insurance will facilitate your (the data subject’s) rights in line with our data protection policy. To ensure that Securus Insurance satisfies itself about the identity of the person making the request so it does not disclose your personal data to a party who is not entitled to it under the Data Protection Act, the person making the request will need to provide Securus Insurance with their name, address(es), date of birth and any policy IDs/numbers that they have along with a copy of their photo identification.

You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in the information we hold about you by sending us a written request.

All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved as we have indicated in the processing of your personal data.

Retention of your personal data

Data will not be held for longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which they were obtained. Securus Insurance will process personal data in accordance with our retention schedule. This retention schedule has been governed by our regulatory body, the Central Bank of Ireland and our internal governance.

In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Securus Insurance (or third parties as described above), or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the supervisory authority and Securus Insurance’s data protection officer.

Failure to provide further information if needed

If we are collecting your data for a statutory requirement (payroll) or to fulfill a contract (life policy or motor insurance policy) and you cannot provide this data the consequences of this could mean the contract cannot be completed or details are incorrect.

Profiling – automatic decision making

We use your Customer Data for the provision and administration of insurance products and related services. Examples of the actual or possible uses of your Customer Data are: processing your insurance application, processing claims, statistical analysis, underwriting purposes, fraud prevention, market research, risk management and the provision of advice. This gathering of information is consistent with our offline work practices.

If we intend to further process your personal data for a purpose other than for which the data was collected, we will provide this information prior to processing this data.

It is the intention of this privacy statement to explain to you the information practices of Securus Insurance in relation to the information we collect about you and other users.

Responsibilities

The Data Protection Officer/GDPR Owner is responsible for ensuring that the privacy notice(s) is correct and that mechanisms exist such as having the Privacy Notice(s) on the Securus Insurance website to make all data subjects aware of the contents of this notice prior to Securus Insurance commencing collection of their data.

All staff that need to collect personal data are required to follow this procedure.

Sale of Business
